Hewick Meadows

This section of Hewick Meadows was recently approved through our naturalization program review process as ideal for our volunteer tree planting program. The site contains existing natural features that would be further enhanced by planting native trees and shrubs, and is immediately adjacent to the Credit River. This increases its need to be planted to increase habitat and wildlife corridors in an existing urban area and to increase overall tree canopy in an urban area that has been impacted by ice storms, emerald ash borer, gypsy moth and Asian long horn beetle.
