Some key reminders for our location!
This site is a key site for the program each year. Of the 50,000 trees planted annually approximately 1/50th of them are planted at OUR site. This planting is an instrumental planting for the environment, affecting not only the air we breathe, but eventually the food we eat, as it is part of a program to restore the salmon spawning in our area.
We recommend that you arrive a few minutes earlier than the specified time in order to complete registration and receive your TD Tree Days t-shirt. There will be a brief welcome huddle where important information will be shared followed by instructions on how to properly plant the trees/shrubs.
Parking and Directions:
Parking is onsite - there is a short walk to registration and the planting area.
Directions - same site as last year - Concession 5 (Whitevale) - West of Westney, just east of 16th Sideline. The entrance to the conservation area is gated - there are "No Trespassing - Conservation Lands" on the fence/gate. Signage for TD Tree Days will be visible. View of entrance shown in attached image.
Poison Ivy is located on the extended property; it will be well marked if located anywhere near the planting site.
Please bring the following items with you:
Please note the event will take place rain or sunshine. We will cancel the planting only if thunderstorms are present for safety.
