Less than 2 weeks...

September 06, Brookside Park

2015

Thank you for making the commitment to planting some trees and to have fun with a great group of volunteers.

Please note the event will take place rain or sunshine. (pro tip, rain makes the digging a little easier!)

We hope to start around 9:00am and our team recommends that you arrive a few minutes earlier. That will give you time to walk to the site (parking, see below), check-in, (#OxfordComma) and receive your TD Tree Days t-shirt. There will be a brief welcome huddle where we will hear from our special community guest, and learn about the environmental significance of our park and the trees we shall plant. We will also learn how to properly (and safely) plant the trees/shrubs to ensure a solid foundation and long-term survival.

Parking and Directions: Parking at the site is non-existant. You can park (limitedly) on the surrounding streets. Brookside Arena is not too far to the south and will have ample parking. Plus it will provide an opportunity for a nice cardio warm-up on this Saturday morning by walking (or running) to the park

Safety Considerations: Let's all make the commitment to be safe and have fun.

Clothing:

  • Wear closed toed sturdy footwear. Please do not wear sandals or flip flops to the event. If you do, be prepared for many quizzical looks and hearing "really?!"
  • Dress for the weather. You can dress in layers with a windbreaker and bring rain gear in case of rainy conditions.
  • Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are also good items to bring along. We will have sunscreen available if needed.
  • Previous volunteers are encouraged to wear their TD Tree Days t-shirt from last year. #Vintage

Please bring the following items with you:

  • A reusable water bottle.
  • Garden gloves. We will have some available if needed. They make holding the shovel much more pleasant!
  • If you are bringing minors of which you aren't the parent/guardian, please download and print the Minor Participant Waiver and Photo Release forms for parent/guardian signature. You must provide the signed forms to the TD Site Leader when you arrive at the event.

Thank you once again for volunteering and making this TD Tree Days, the best yet!

See you soon...

Oh, one more thing... TD Tree Days is an incredible program that has been delivering an impact across Canada for several years. With your passion, enthusiasm, and effort, the volunteers in the London community have consistently made this event #Legendary. We have super-surprise to share about TD Tree Days and our planting... #StayTuned!
